In Mark 7, Jesus calls the Pharisees hypocrites for their finding fault with the disciples eating with unwashed hands. Rev. Dr. Ken Henry uses this and other passages from Mark 7 to show how Jesus' ministry is against anything that excludes others and puts people to shame. Using the analogy of Jesus as the bread of life, Rev. Henry emphasizes that everyone is welcome to the bread, and there is no place for shame. Liturgist Alice Thorn reads from Jeremiah 31:31-34.
